Abarth is the ‘bad boy’ of 500s

February came and went, along with the Super Bowl. Families and friends gathered around the TV screen for the big event - but not just to watch football. Many would agree that the expensive yet memorable commercials provide as much, if not more, entertainment as the main event. In fact, our very own FIAT got some time in those invaluable spots.

Consumers shopping for FIAT cars near Chicago probably noticed the 60-second advertisement that aired during the Super Bowl - not only because it featured the 2012 FIAT 500 Abarth, but also because the loveable Charlie Sheen made an appearance.

The previous "Two and a Half Men" star shared the FIAT spotlight with Romanian model Catrinel Menghai, who you may recognize from FIAT's "Seduction" commercial. The "House Arrest" commercial features Sheen enjoying the 2012 500 Abarth by racing through the hallways of his mansion, and then steps out of the vehicle with the electronic monitoring device around his ankle. Menghia approaches him and well, you'll just have to watch the video on YouTube.

Oliveier Francois, worldwide head of FIAT brand and Chrysler Group's chief marketing officer, states, "The FIAT 500 Abarth is the 'small but wicked' personality of the FIAT 500 and its spot captures that attitude and spirit. The FIAT 500 Abarth is the bad boy of the FIAT vehicle lineup and Charlee Sheen personifies the edgy and fun attributes of the FIAT 500 in 'House Arrest.'"

Spectators who loved the commercial are in luck, because it will be airing on broadcast and cable television within the next couple of months. FIAT fans and shoppers will be able to enjoy the advertisement more often soon enough. In the meantime, come browse our inventories to test drive the 2012 500 Abarth and experience the "bad boy" first-hand.
